What is a Ductless Heat Pump?

A ductless mini-split heat pump is an efficient heating and cooling system that consists of an outdoor compressor unit and one or more indoor air-handling units, allowing for temperature control in individual rooms without the need for ductwork. These systems are ideal for homes without existing ducts and can provide both heating and cooling by transferring heat rather than generating it.

Why go Ductless?

  • Energy Efficiency & Lower Utility Bills

Ductless heat pumps use inverter technology, which adjusts output to match demand instead of cycling on and off. This makes them far more efficient than electric furnaces, baseboard heaters, or window AC units. Many households see 30–50% energy savings.
  • No Ductwork Losses

Traditional forced-air systems lose up to 20–30% of energy through leaks and inefficiencies in ductwork. Ductless systems deliver conditioned air directly into the room, eliminating this waste.
  • Zoned Comfort & Flexibility

With ductless systems, each indoor unit can be controlled independently. This means you can keep bedrooms cooler, living spaces warmer, or turn off zones you’re not using—something central systems can’t do without costly upgrades.
  • Improved Indoor Air Quality

Ducts collect dust, allergens, and even mold over time. Because ductless systems don’t rely on ductwork, and come with advanced multi-stage filtration, they help reduce indoor air pollutants and allergens.
  • Easy Installation & Versatility

Installing new ductwork in an existing home can be disruptive and expensive. Ductless heat pumps require only a small wall penetration and can be installed in various layouts (single-zone or multi-zone) with minimal construction.
